Asante Kotoko have officially confirmed the departure of goalkeeper Frederick Asare following the expiration of his contract.
The 25-year-old faced a challenging 2024/25 campaign, falling down the pecking order behind Mohammed Camara and managing just 15 league appearances. Despite limited game time, Asare kept 7 clean sheets and conceded only 12 goals.
Kotoko announced his exit on Thursday, bringing an end to their three year relationship.

Since joining the Porcupine Warriors from Accra Lions in 2022, Asare has had notable moments — including winning the MTN FA Cup in 2025 and earning a call-up to the Black Stars.
With his exit confirmed, the experienced shot-stopper is already attracting interest, with Ghana Premier League champions Bibiani Gold Stars and Medeama reportedly in the race for his signature.
