The Ghana Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) has rescued the pilot of a Gabonese registered aircraft that was forced to land in Ghana.
The pilot was the sole occupant of the plane, a Cessna 206 said to be en route to France having made a brief stop in Lome.
According to a statement from the GCAA, the pilot had sent out a distress call reporting of engine difficulty before the forced landing in Kete Krachi.
A team of Ghanaian Aviation experts investigating circumstances leading to the landing have returned to Accra with the pilot.
He is said to be in good health and is cooperating with investigators in their efforts to establish the true cause of the incident.
The Director General of the GCAA Kwame Mamphey told Joy News the pilot has requested the plane be dismantled and returned as Cargo to France.
