The New Patriotic Party has called on NDC Presidential Candidate, John Mahama to let go of his ego and accept the EC’s Presidential election results.
Speaking to the press, Tuesday, NPP General Secretary John Boadu noted that although all political parties can make claims to having the accurate results, the pink sheet is the only true reflection of Ghanaians decision in the December polls.
“The election of Nana Akufo-Addo as President-elect of the Republic of Ghana reflects the will of the Ghanaian people. It is time for him [Mahama] to come to terms with what has happened. You have lost the election with over 500,000 margins.
"Let the Ghanaian people speak up and tell John Dramani Mahama that this country is bigger than his ego."
According to him, the Electoral Commission has proven its credibility despite several allegations from the opposition party that termed the election results as fictitious and flawed.
“The result that the EC put out has been corroborated by CODEO, endorsed as free and fair by the EU Mission and resolved by the Media.
"It cannot be that all these International reputable organisations are in cohorts with the EC to steal an election," he added.
He, therefore, called on all Ghanaians to condemn without reservation the intransigence of the NDC. He also urged the NDC to “resort to the court to address their grievances, if they have any.”
In response to claims by the National Democratic Congress of having Majority in Parliament, Mr John Boadu indicated that the results of the Parliamentary elections as recorded by the Electoral Commission are to be considered.
“The EC has affirmed that indeed the New Patriotic Party has majority of seats. I shudder to understand whether they were taught the basic one, two, three in Nursery.
"It should be clear to them that they don't have the 140 seats they are talking about."
However, Mr John Boadu admitted that results in the Parliamentary elections is Ghanaians' way of telling the two main political parties to work together.
