Newly crowned Ghana League champions Aduana Stars have announced they will play in next year’s Caf Champions League.
The Dormaa-based club are unfazed by the huge financial commitment and are prepared to partake in the continent’s prestigious club competition.
Ghanaian clubs have accrued huge debts after playing in continental club football and have in recent times withdrawn their participation.
“The town was full of jubilant supporters and all of them went to the Chief’s palace and the traditional ruler promised to fund our trip in the CafChampions League,” the club’s spokesperson Kwame Afari said on a local radio station.
Aduana Stars edged AshGold to the league title on the final day of competition on the head-to-head rule.
