The Executive Director of the Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC) Foundation, Dr Dominic Eduah, has challenged organizations to take Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) seriously to ensure that the lives and communities were positively affected.
He said when organizations invest in the lives and communities they operate it tends to build healthy and sustainable relationships with the communities.
He made these comment during the commissioning of a 24-seater newly-constructed Sanitary Facility at Bompeh Secondary Technical School in the Secondi -Takoradi Metropolis of the Western Region.
According to Dr Eduah, the facility was among thirty other projects at various levels of completion across the country, aimed at improving sanitation in the schools and communities
Mr Eduah noted that the Foundation had its focus on impacting lives by building facilities for the needy communities and pledged the Foundation's continuous support in contributing to nation-building.
“GNPC Foundation would continue to support communities in need with basic amenities and other educational facilities as well as giving of scholarships``.
He disclosed that his outfit was building a 160-bed capacity hostel with ancillary facilities at the Sekondi School for the deaf at Inchaban as well as some classroom block at Sekondi College.
He also indicated that at Efiakuma Police Park also in the metropolis, a traditional pitch was being transformed into an ultra-modern artificial turf.
The headmaster of the school, Joseph Borketey Larweh, thanked the GNPC Foundation for making good on their promise to help the school.
“We are grateful to the GNPC Foundation. We promise to take good care of this well-equipped sanitary facility so it can serve generation unborn ", he added.
