Ghana striker Asamoah Gyan has returned to action after four months out with a thigh injury.
The 22-year-old, who plays for French side Rennes, has joined the junior side of the team in training as he prepares to return to top flight action.
Gyan's injury was a huge disappointment for Rennes after the Ligue One side paid US$12m for his signature in July.
The former Italy-based striker, whose career has been blighted by several injuries, is confident he is fully fit to help his club in the French top flight.
"I think I am fully fit now so that I can get back to action to help my club," Gyan told Ghanasoccernet.com.
"The injuries are setbacks but it is good that I have come through this successfully which makes me a stronger person.
"I am sure Ligue One will now get to see the best of me after I have finished training with the second team where I am regaining my match fitness."
He also missed two crucial World Cup qualifiers against Libya and Lesotho even though the Black Stars managed to scrape through.
Gyan signed a four-year deal with the Ligue One club In July to join compatriot John Mensah shortly before the defender left for Lyon.
The forward was impressive for Udinese after returning from two seasons on loan at Italian rivals Modena.
But it was at the 2006 World Cup in Germany where he began to attract the interest of other clubs.
He scored the third-minute goal which set the Black Stars on their way to a thrilling 2-0 victory over the Czech Republic in Germany.
Gyan also marked his Ghana debut in November 2003 with a goal against Somalia and went on to score four times in seven matches during the World Cup qualifying campaign.
