Ghana international Asamoah Gyan gave his return to full fitness a boost when he played the last seven minutes of Rennes' goalless draw against Nantes at home on Saturday night.
Gyan replaced Moussa Sow in the 83rd minute and made his fourth league appearance for Rennes.
The 23-year-old's 8 million euro move from Udinese to the Stade de le Route-de-Lorient has been dogged by injuries.
Gyan has been battling a nagging thigh injury which he sustained during the Africa Cup of Nations on home soil early this year.
He last played for Rennes on August 24 when he came on as a substitute in their 2-1 defeat of Lille.
Gyan's only full time action was in the opening day 4-4 dramatic scoreline against Marseille.
