A former National Democratic Congress (NDC) MP for the Akan Constituency, says he was the most experienced candidate for the Kadjebi District Chief Executive (DCE) post.
Joseph Kwadwo Ofori who was among the 12 aspirants filing for the DCE position, said this during an interview at Kadjebi in the Oti Region.
He served as MP for the area between January 2009 to January 2017.
Mr Ofori told GNA that he was an elected Assemblyman for the Kadjebi Central Electoral Area between 2002 and 2008 before being elected as NDC parliamentary candidate in 2008.
He said he had expertise in mobilizing the electorate in generating enough internally generated funds (IGF) for the assembly.
The former lawmaker said in a situation where the local assembly was able to generate enough IGF, it would not need to rely on the District Assemblies’ Common Fund (DACF) for development projects.
Mr Ofori, also known as Wofapaye told GNA that he would involve the chiefs and religious leaders in all deliberations, as they are key in local governance.
He said he was a down-to-earth person and that no one would be left behind in his administration when appointed DCE.
Other contestants are; Mr. Isaac Abavon, Akan Constituency Secretary of the NDC, Mr. Richard Akrasi, Akan Constituency Communications Officer of the NDC, Emmanuel Klu, Akan Constituency Director of Elections of the NDC, Nana Kow Hayward Yaidoo, Development Economist.
