Chancellor of the University of Cape Coast (UCC), Sir Sam Jonah, has delivered a tribute to Vice President Professor Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang.
He revealed the woman behind the public figure through the lens of a former colleague who worked alongside her for years.
Speaking at the inaugural Distinguished Fellow Award Ceremony at UCC on March 13, Sir Sam Jonah abandoned the detached tone of a ceremonial address to offer something far more valuable: first-hand testimony.
"I speak today not only as Chancellor, but as one who had the distinct honour of working alongside her during her tenure as Vice-Chancellor of this University," Sir Sam Jonah told the gathered audience.
"I witnessed her leadership at close range. I saw the rigour she brought to every decision, the grace she extended to every person, the courage she displayed in every challenge."
The renowned businessman shared what he saw as a rare glimpse into the private character of a leader who has spent decades in the spotlight yet remains something of an enigma to those who have only observed her from afar.
"And I can tell you with the full authority of personal experience: what you will hear about Professor Opoku-Agyemang today is not ceremony, it is truth," he declared.
