The Z-9 aircraft was on official assignment from Accra to Obuasi when it crashed in the Adansi Akrofuom District on the morning of Tuesday, August 6, 2025, just a few kilometres from its destination.
The flight took off at 9:12am.

The Presidency has declared three days of national mourning, from Thursday, August 7 to Saturday, August 9, with candlelight vigils and the laying of wreaths planned in honour of the deceased.
May these gallant souls rest in peace.
