Emergency personnel from the Peki Fire Station have responded to a serious road traffic accident at Peki Tsame near Mawutor Inn on the Peki–Asikuma highway, resulting in one fatality and multiple injuries.
According to a post shared on Facebook by the Ghana National Service, the incident occurred when a Toyota Hiace minibus, registration number GT 7012-24, reportedly suffered a rear tyre burst while in motion.

The sudden blowout caused the driver to lose control of the vehicle, which subsequently somersaulted, leaving passengers trapped and injured.
A rescue team led by Assistant Divisional Officer Grade I (ADO I) Godwin Gbedemah was swiftly deployed to the scene.
Firefighters worked diligently to extricate victims from the wreckage and administer initial emergency assistance.

In total, sixteen passengers — comprising eight men, seven women and one child — sustained varying degrees of injury.
All casualties were stabilised at the scene before being conveyed by the National Ambulance Service to the Peki Government Hospital for further medical attention.

The GNFS indicated that one of the victims later died at the hospital, while the remaining casualties are reported to be in stable condition.
