Ghana defender Samuel Inkoom arrived in the Swiss town of Basel on Wednesday to begin his career abroad.
The wing-back arrived in Basel this morning and has already joined the club for pre-season training.
The 19-year-old signed a four-year deal with the Swiss giants in April from Ghanaian side Kotoko for his first move to Europe.
But he delayed his move to the club because he played for the Black Stars in this month’s two World Cup qualifiers.
Officials of Basel were in Sudan where Ghana played in the Nile Crocodiles on Saturday in their desperate bid to whisk him away.
But he convinced them that he had some unfinished business to attend to in Ghana and he was granted the permission to stay away for two days.
Inkoom used his two days in Ghana to donate 10 million cedis to his former team-mates at Kotoko for beating arch rivals Hearts in a recent league game.
He excelled at the recent African Nations Championship in the Ivory Coast which prompted interest from several clubs in Europe.
Inkoom was a key member of Ghana under-20 team that won the Africa Youth Championship in Rwanda in January.
The defender made full national team debut earlier this year during the 2010World Cup qualifier against Benin in Kumasi.
