Ghana youngster Jordan Ayew scored one of the outstanding goals in the French top-flight as Marseille routed Brest 3-0 on Wednesday to keep alive its title bid.
The last son of legend Abedi Pele curled the ball in from an acute angle after being freed on the left for Marseille’s second goal.
The defending champions consolidated second place, trailing Lille by four points, and needs the leader to drop points in at least two matches with just three matches to go.
Marseille forward Loic Remy beat goalkeeper Steeve Elana in the 12th minute to raise his tally to 12 league goals this season before Jordan Ayew curled home an angled shot in the 59th.
Argentine defender Gabriel Heinze fired home a low free kick in the 81st to put the result beyond doubt.
