Every player has a dream club. Not all players are bold enough to talk about it in the public space.
Especially when they’re already tied down to contracts with another club.
However, the case of Joseph Aidoo was different.
His ambition to play for Bayern Munich has never been a secret. And that’s probably because of his admiration for his ‘idol’ Sammy Kuffuor.
During the international break, Aidoo confidently explained to Joy Sports why he believes he will play for the Bavarian Giants in future.
“I chose Sammy Kuffour as my mentor because for me, I think I will be playing for Bayern Munich in future and he has been there.
"And that is why I am always looking up to him and he has made a good impact on the football world. When I was a kid, Bayern was the club that touched my heart and that is why I admire them,” the center back added.
The former Inter Allies defender expressed his admiration for the German club confessing that he always keeps an eye on them.
“I do watch their [Bayern Munich] games and even sometimes I go to their website to watch some clips and stuff."
Bayern Munich coach Hansi Flick was asked to address the desire by Aidoo to play for the German club.
In his remarks, Flick responded stating the six time Champions League winners will sign Aidoo once he meets the requirements of the club.
“There are many players who would like to play for FC Bayern. If he has the appropriate aptitudes and qualities, then I do think that he would be considered," the Bavarian boss said to Sports 1.
Aidoo is currently playing for Spanish outfit Celta Vigo and has featured in 20 games in La Liga.
