Asante Kotoko have frozen the two months salary of striker Kwadwo Poku as a disciplinary action for his recent unprofessional acts during the team's visit to Algeria in the Confederation Cup.
Poku was shown a red card in the match against JS Kabylie and was also reported to have hidden the passport of the club's Chief Executive.
There were several other allegations that were leveled against the player.
It was speculated his contract with the club would be terminated but the Kotoko management has been considerate.
"Inasmuch as we needed to punish the striker, management gave a serious thought to the kind of punishment because we need to protect his career," Director of communications,Kwame Baah-Nuakoh told the Kotoko Express
"No other player will be spared for any act of indiscipline and notoriety."
Poku is part of Milovan Rajevac's 19-man squad in South Africa for tomorrow's international friendly.
