Former President John Agyekum Kufuor has condemned the state of vendetta in Ghana’s politics, which he said is retarding the country’s progress.He has therefore urged Ghanaians to forge ahead as one people, put an end to politics of retaliation to move the economy of the nation forward.This was contained in a speech read for him by the former Minister of Works and Housing, Alhaji Boniface Abubakarr Saddique, at a ceremony to honour him (Kufuor) by the people of Mfantsiman in the Central Region.The ceremony put together by FED KASTLE Promotion Awards Foundation was to recognize Mr Kufuor's leadership as a two-term president of Ghana.Mr. Kufuor reiterated that the vindictiveness that has characterized politics in Ghana is not healthy for her fragile democracy.He reminded fellow politicians that no condition is permanent and should be bound by the fact that government goes and a new government comes. He also cautioned them to be mindful that their utterances and deeds while in power are very important.Former President Kufuor urged Ghanaians to bury their past so that the nation can move forward to ensure an economic, socio-cultural and political stability.He noted that the developed countries have a sustainable economy because they pay ample attention to their youth and that the needs of the youth in the country should be paramount to ensure a vibrant economy.Richard Kwadwo Nyarko who covered the event for Joy News said the former president was grateful for the honour and entreated organisations to emulate the pace set by FED KASTLE Promotion Awards Foundation to honour their heroes since any country which does not honour its heroes is not worth dying for.Story by Isaac Essel/Myjoyonline
