Former President John Agyekum Kufuor returned home Saturday night from Geneva, Switzerland, where he addressed the Governing Council of Interpeace, the world-wide peace organization backed by the United Nations.
President Kufuor who is the first African chair of the Interpeace Council, presided over the Partners Forum – where he interacted with donors and supporters of the organization.
He briefed the media on his stewardship of the organization in the past year and gave highlights of activities undertaken by the organization in the 17 countries that they operate in through Africa, Asia, the Middle East and Europe.
A press statement issued by Frank Agyekum, Spokesperson at the Office of former President said President Kufuor also delivered a lecture on “Leadership for Africa's Tomorrow” at the famous Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies, the prestigious pioneering institute in the training of diplomats which dates back to the 1920s and founding of the League of Nations later transformed into the United Nations.
He was away for about a week.
