Organizers of the Lake Bosomtwe Republic Day Festival in the Ashanti Region are promising exciting moments for holidaymakers on Friday.
The Ghana Tourist Board is partnering Bosomtwe District Assembly, the Multimedia Group and Platinum Point Consult to institute the annual event.
The festival is aimed at boosting the tourism potentials of the only natural lake in Ghana and enhancing the business opportunities for people in the area.
Activities lined up for the maiden edition include Lake Cruise, boat racing, hiking, cultural display and a musical concert featuring top highlife artistes.
One major attraction to the maiden event is horse riding, which is very uncommon for Ghanaians. The Green Ranch at the lake side would be offering an adventurous experience for both adults and children to enjoy the sport of horse riding.
Established barely a month ago, the Eco-Friendly Equestrian Leisure Centre is attracting groups and individuals seeking the sports and entertainment of horse-trekking.
Elodie Antwi, affectionately called Abena Ponko is in-charge of the ranch.
She tells Luv Fm patrons of the Republic Day Festival are being offered services at a discounted rate of Gh¢15.00 for an hour-and-half canoe/horse ride and Gh¢5.00 per 10min. ride for children.
Ashanti Regional Manager of the Ghana Tourist Board, Ekow Sampson, is hopeful the programme will open up the district to local and foreign investors.
Chief Executive for Bosomtwe District, Edward Nti Berko, is also upbeat about the potentials of the Lake Bosomtwe Republic Day Festival to boost socio-economic activities in the area.
Business Manager for Luv/Nhyira FM, Jim Aglah, emphasized the Multimedia Group remains committed to people-centered innovations for socio-economic progress.
