A Lebanese, Ali Fawazi who came to work in Ghana and had a baby with one Ghanaian lady is reported to have bolted with the nine month old baby.
Felix Akakpo, brother of the baby’s mother who called into Asempa News to raise the alarm, said, Ali Fawazi ran out of contract and consequently returned to Lebanon to attempt to renew his contract. On his way out he travelled with the Ghanaian lady. His contract renewal application was however refused and he was away with the sister for five months.
Felix Akakpo told Asempa News that, Ali Fawazi claimed to have found a new job at the Aflao border and came in to invite the sister along. Three days after the couple left, Felix said the sister called him to inform him that she could not find Fawazi again.
According to Felix, after searching for a month without any success, they phoned somebody in Lebanon who confirmed that the man and the baby were in Lebanon.
According to him, they reported the incident to the Madina Police and have since been waiting to be told how far the police have gone with their investigations.
The Madina Divisional Police Commander, Chief Superintendent Paul Ayittey confirmed the case and said they are working with the Ghanaian Embassy in Lebanon and Interpol to get hold of the man.
