Parliament has begun its debate on the Appointment Committee's report regarding the new Ministerial appointees.
This was after Minority asked for more time to assess the document.
President Akufo-Addo nominated the Member of Parliament for Adansi Asokwa, K.T Hammond as the Minister for Trade and Industry with the MP for Nhyiaeso, Dr. Stephen Amoah serving as his deputy.
The MP for Abetifi, Bryan Acheampong was also appointed as the Minister for Food and Agriculture.
Stephen Asamoah Boateng was appointed as the Minister for Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs among others subject to the vetting and approval of Parliament.
Meanwhile, the Minority side said they were served with copies of the report a little too late for which reason they will need ample time to assess it.
The Speaker, however, granted the House fifteen minutes to go through the documents after which the motion will be moved.
When the time elapsed, the motion was moved and the debate ensued thereof.
Watch a live stream of the debate below:
Just after Alexander Afenyo-Markin finished arguing his position for the house to adopt the report, Majority Chief Whip, Frank Annoh-Dompreh prayed the Speaker to grant the House an hour's suspension for a brief caucus meeting.
Speaker Alban Bagbin was of the view that the application was well-grounded so he granted it.
On that note, the House is scheduled to reconvene at 3:30 PM.
Some other executives at the party level from both sides of the aisle have also been sighted in the House.
First was General Secretary for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Justin Kodua Frimpong.
Later in the afternoon, the Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketiah also joined the members in the House.
