President John Dramani Mahama has lauded China’s remarkable achievement in lifting millions of its citizens from poverty into prosperity within a short period, describing it as an inspiring model for developing nations like Ghana.
Speaking at the ongoing Presidential Investment Forum in Beijing, Mr Mahama said China’s success story demonstrates what strong leadership, innovation, and strategic planning can achieve.
“China's transformation over the past four decades is one of the most remarkable stories in modern history. China has succeeded in lifting the greatest number of people out of poverty in the shortest possible time recorded in the history of the world,” he said.
“This is a story of innovation, discipline, and visionary leadership,” he added.
The President noted that Ghana stands at a crucial point in its development and is eager to learn from China’s experience to accelerate its own path toward economic transformation and inclusive growth.
“Ghana too stands at a pivotal point in our transformation… on this journey, we extend our open hand of partnership with our friends in China,” he emphasised.
