President John Mahama on Wednesday ended his three-day state visit to Botswana by visiting two diamond factories and polishing companies.
The companies, Diamond Trading Company of Botswana and Eurostar Diamond Polishing Company apart from adding value to the huge diamond deposits mined in the country, also employed thousands of Botswana citizens and beyond.
President Mahama who was conducted round the two facilities went through the processes and polishing stages, areas that could be replicated in the processing of Ghana's gold and other minerals.
He was accompanied by the First Lady, Mrs Lordina Mahama, Ms Hannah Tetteh, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration, Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyeman, Minister for Education, Nii Osah-Mills, Minister for Lands and Natural Resources and Alhaji Abdul-Rahman Haruna Attah, Ghana's High Commissioner to Botswana among other dignitaries.
During his three-day stay in the Southern African country, President Mahama held some bilateral discussions with host President Lieutenant General Seretse Khama Ian Khama and signed Memorandum of Understanding in political consultations.
He was also the Guest Speaker at the inauguration of the largest dam in Dikgatlhong in Northern Botswana and later visited the Botswana Meat Commission in Francistown, the second largest city in the country.
President Mahama also spent some time with the Ghanaian community in Botswana and shared ideas, trends and socio-economic development programmes in Ghana.
