A young man has died with one other sustaining critical injury after falling off the newly commissioned Pokuase Interchange on Saturday.
The External Operations Manager for the Zhongmei Engineering Group Limited, contractors of the Pokuase Interchange project, Desmond Yaw Hodanu Bedi said he saw the two men speeding from the Awoshie section of the interchange on an unregistered motorbike.
He added that both fell at the same time leaving one dead and the other severely injured.
According to eyewitnesses, per their assessment two may have been on drugs.
“These gentlemen were coming from the Awoshie section and were over speeding or on drugs with an unregistered motorbike which put them in a more severe situation because you wouldn’t be in that curve of 40 km/h, and you may fall down because I’m very sure they were speeding,” one of them told Accra-based Citi FM.
He said an ambulance showed up at the scene to convey both the deceased and the injured to the hospital.
