Ghana striker Prince Tagoe is attracting interest from several clubs in Europe but English club Middlesbrough are in the lead for the race to sign him.The 22-year-old international has been impressing a number of clubs with his performances for Saudi Arabian side Al-Ettifaq.There are reportedly a number of clubs currently chasing the striker's signature, with Valencia favourites to sign him but clubs in Italy and France are also prreparing their bids. The Spanish Primera Division side are in serious debt, and may have to sell their biggest assets in the summer, meaning the like of David Villa, David Silva, Juan Mata and Joaquin could all leave the club, and as a result the club will be on the lookout for some bargain buys for next season. The Ghanaian striker will become a free agent in the summer when his contract with the Saudi side runs out, and this has prompted the race for his signature.Middlesbrough boss Southgate has already sent out scout Gordon McQueen to keep an eye of the youngsters progress, and it is believed that the club will offer the player a contract in the summer.Boro are in serious danger of being relegated this season, and this could scupper any deal that may go through, with Tagoe maybe preferring to move to the top flight in Spain rather than the second tier of English football.Tagoe has played just eight times for his country, but has managed to score three goals since his debut in 2006.Source: ghanasoccernet.com
