President John Evans Atta Mills has assured the Black Stars that the government will reward them abundantly if they qualify for the World Cup.
The president gave the assurance when he visited the Black Stars during their training Friday morning.
The former chairman of the Black Stars said he was thrilled by the players’ performance in the World Cup qualifiers so far and is convinced they will make a successive appearance at the global tournament.
“On behalf of the people of Ghana, I want to thank you for your commitment to the national team,” Mills told the Black Stars.
“We are very grateful for your commitment – we know you are striving to die a little for the country.
“All of you are politicians now because you affect the mood of the nation positively.
“I want to assure you that the country will reward you adequately when you finally get the World Cup place.”
Ghana are top of Group D with maximum six points are two matches in the group involving Mali, Benin and Sudan.
