The semifinal stage of the MTN FA Cup will take centre stage this weekend with no Ghana Premier League action.
Dreams FC, Bofoakwa Tano, Nsoatreman FC and Legon Cities will be competing for a place in the final of the cup competition.
Dreams FC are hoping to make it to back-to-back final appearances having played in the last two last season. The Still Believe lads defeated King Faisal in the final to win their first-ever FA Cup title.
Karim Zito’s side, despite their inconsistencies in the league, have been better in the cup competitions and had a brilliant run to reach the semis of the CAF Confederation Cup.
In the FA Cup, they beat Soccer Intellectuals with youngster Abdul Aziz Issah scoring the decisive goal.
Dreams have conceded just one goal en route to reaching this stage of the competition, scoring eight in the process in four matches.
They face Bofoakwa Tano in the last four of the competition.
Bofoakwa, like Dreams, have also conceded one goal in the four games they have played in the competition. They have, however, scored two less than the Believers have netted.
John Eduafo’s boys saw off competition from Skyy FC to advance to the semis of the FA Cup.
The Bono-based side needed a penalty shootout to edge out the Division One League side.
In the other fixture, Legon Cities will be battling Nsoatreman.
Maxwell Konadu has done brilliant work in the dugout for Nsoatreman since his appointment.
All four of the ties they have played have been at home. In all of those, they are yet to concede.
The Nsoatreman-based side has also scored five goals.
In their opponents, they face a different Legon Cities side that have had a good run of form.
The FA Cup is the only source of laurel for Paa Kwesi Fabin and his boys this season as they are set for another mid-table finish in the Ghana Premier League.
All games are set to be played in Sogakope on Saturday and Sunday respectively.
