In line with its tradition of acknowledging and appreciating its people, Multimedia Group Limited has honoured journalists in two of its business Units operating in the Ashanti Regional capital, Kumasi for excellence and diligence.

Assisting Editor, Kofi Adu Domfeh, received a special undisclosed package for winning the ultimate prize in the 2014 Africa Climate Change and Environmental Reporting Awards, joining the tall list of Multimedia journalists who chalked success for themselves and the company this year.

Kofi Domfeh’s radio piece,’’ When Production Soils Run Dry’’ aired on Luv FM and Joy FM, ahead of the 2013 National Framers Day in Ghana, was adjudged the overall best in the English Radio Category at the second edition of the awards ceremony held in Nairobi, Kenya, earlier this year.

He had emerged second runner-up at the maiden edition of the scheme instituted last year by the Pan African Climate Justice Aliance and the UN Environment Programme.

Kofi said,” we don’t really take into cognizance the fact that we write for awards. For me, I have realized that across the globe we are doing great things here. The things we do here are of global excellence, I tried it and I won”.

Acting Programmes Director for Luv FM, David Akuetteh, was recognized for dedicated service, having worked with the group for ten years. He received a certificate in addition to an undisclosed package. 

David Akuetteh joined the Multimedia family in 2004 as Morning Show host, and later the afternoon archaeology-to-zoology talk show, THE DIARY, with which his silky voice continues to excite listeners Monday to Friday.  

Head of Business Unit for Multimedia Kumasi, Jim Aglah, congratulated the two for their exploits in enhancing the multimedia brand, especially, on the global stage.

News Editor, Saeed Ali Yaqub, said the team has the capacity to win more laurels for the company. He promised the team will continue producing stories that will touch lives.

Human Resource Business Partner for Accra Radio James Tettey, reiterated the management’s resolve to protect its people, adding recent assault on its journalists in Accra will be pursued to the hilt.

The two recipients expressed gratitude to management for the gesture, and promised to work harder to drive the company’s vision.  They dedicated the awards to their colleagues whom they describe as a family.
