Audio By Carbonatix
In today’s world where we are incessantly bombarded with visual imagery wherever we go, one tends to overlook the power of sound. Audio experiences have been overshadowed, yet we shouldn’t forget their ability to subtly transport a listener into another person’s world- while they share stories and memories of joy, pain, events and many more.
In the past couple of months, I have had the honour of sharing my thoughts, vision and memories of the journey as a co-founder of Nubuke Foundation.
The first steps of this journey actually began almost 25 years ago.
I had the pleasure of speaking with Florence Amerley Adu on her Glocal podcast on a rainy morning in Accra, recalling who, why, how, and where Nubuke Foundation?
I was reminded of the days when we kept diaries. A peek into your diaries vividly brought the past back, and you disappeared into another world of memories, laughing at things long forgotten or saddened by losses along the way.

My second conversation with Michelle Renee Jackson (https://lnkd.in/exSkGDBQ ), however, turned out to be a pleasant surprise. It was again an honour to be the first guest from Africa to be interviewed on the Black Philanthropy podcast.
Even though I don't usually refer to myself as a philanthropist, what stood out for me as we began to delve and share stories is how much humankind has in common. I came away from this conversation feeling closer to the African American community - who always seem so far away across the Atlantic - than ever before.
Michelle’s thoughtful questions highlighted and opened up into the world of philanthropy, stressing why it mattered. As we are all connected to the bigger picture, we must recognise that every action we take will always have an impact on the community in which we belong and even beyond.
What impact or legacy do you choose to leave in your society?

Nubuke Foundation’s 20-year legacy is visible in the visual arts and culture of Ghana and worldwide.
Happy listening.
If you are moved by our story, do get in touch, because our work is not yet done.
Philanthropists need philanthropists too!
