The Western Regional Coordinator for the National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO), Mr Japheth Baidoo, has called on residents along the Ghana/Cote d'Ivoire border to report any unusual movement of people into the country.
He said NADMO was monitoring the security situation in Cote d'Ivoire and had drawn up contingency plans to solve problems of potential refugees arriving in the country.
Mr. Baidoo told the GNA in an interview that some of the camps identified as possible sites to accommodate potential refugees include Christian camp, Ata Na Ata in the Shama District and a location between Essiama and Aiyinase.
He said NADMO was working with the Immigration Service, the Ghana Navy, the Ghana Health Service, the Ghana Police Service, the Bureau of National Investigation, UNHCR and UNICEF to help provide emergency assistance to potential refugees.
