Four Division One League clubs have been slapped with a one year ban for engaging in non-competitive matches.
The four are made up of Nania FC, Okwawu United, Great Mariners and Mighty Jets who were involved in the last Zone Three Middle League that recorded cricket scores, which turned non-competitive and attracted public fury.
In addition to the ban of the Clubs, their players would also serve a one-year ban as they were said to be involved at the material time the matches of convenience and non-competitive.
The Deputy General Secretary of the Ghana Football Association, Mr Emmanuel Gyimah in release copied to the GNA Sports said the ban is in accordance with Article 35(5)(d) of the GFA Regulations.
The players and Clubs have each been banned from all leagues, events and activities organised by or approved by the GFA.
The list of affected players from Okwawu United are Kwabena Boateng, David Mensah, Daniel Akuoko, Kwame Antwi, Richard Mireku, Frank Turkson, Bismak Agyiri, Francis Cudjoe, Francis Kumi and Emmanuel Odoi.
The players of Nania FC include Alhaji Kassim, Emmanuel Armah, Abdul Rahim Ayew, Razak Dauda, Charles Boateng, Prince Sarfo, Ebenezer Nartey, Lawrence Adu-Boafo, Aminu Fuseini, William Owusu and Abdul Aziz Abankwah.
Great Mariners has Ofori Nyarko, Emmanuel Okaine, Hamid Inusah, Dove Quaye, Godfred Hagan, Abraham Antobam, Nicholas Adom, Christopher Ofori, Richard Okyere, Antwi Doe, Jerry Abbey and Philip Boateng.
The affected players of Mighty Jets FC are Abaalah Sumaila, Abdul Razak Alhaji, Bernard Charde, Michael Nunoo, Mohammed Aminu, Gabriel Otoo, Adamu Farouk, Abdul Razak Ishmeal, Agbashie Doetse, Zakari Awudu, Salifu Mamudu and Abubakar Issah.
