The Management of the Amputee Football national team is organizing two special justify your inclusion in Kumasi and Accra to select amputee footballers as they prepare ahead of this year’s Amputee World Cup in Moscow, Russia later this year.
The first session will be held at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology on Thursday July 19 with the second session taking place here in Accra at the Accra Technical Training Centre on July 24.
According to the Chairman of the Amputee Association of Ghana Adjetey Sowah, the Kumasi exercise is meant for potential players from the northern sector which comprises Ashanti, Brong Ahafo, Northern, Upper West and Upper East regions, whilst the one in Accra will bring together players from the Volta, Eastern, Western, Central and Greater Accra regions.
“With the antecedent of not winning the amputee Nations Cup here in Accra, we realize that there is the need for us to strengthen the team and also give certain empowerment as to the way forward prior to the world cup”. He told JOY Sports
We are creating a level playing field to give equal opportunities for all who are potential amputee footballers to come justify for a place in the team as we prepare for the world cup in October.
He added that, prospective amputee players should avail themselves of the opportunity to make a case for their inclusion in the national team.
