Zeal aka Abdul Hamid Ibrahim of music group VVIP formerly known as Vision in Progress (VIP) has admitted that he misses the showbiz limelight enjoyed by his original group.
He said he missed the original group of five members as he recounted some memories with his colleagues.
“The vibe was a beautiful thing back then when we had Bone, Friction, Promzy myself, Prodigal, Blakofe and Chicago the dog”, he said Friday.
The original group metamorphosed to VVIP after three members left leading to the entry of Reggie Rockstone.
However, he was hopeful that they would reunite in the future to thrill fans with their music once more.
“We are all in good terms and are hoping someday to comeback together to do a reunion concert for the core fans of VIP,” he told host of Joy SMS Winston Amoah
In an interview on Joy FM’s Super Mornning Show, he stated that VVIP had been laying low because they were on a break.
Meanwhile, he revealed that they have a lot of songs which are set to be released.
The founder of the group, Friction (Musah Haruna), proposed the idea to the others; Promzy (Emmanuel Ababio), Lazzy (now zeal), Prodigal ( Joseph Nana Ofori) and Bone.
The five were popular for their performances at parties until they were discovered by Ghanaian television-presenter, Blakofe aka Akua Manfo and a radio-presenter called Michael Smith.
Years later Friction exited the group to pursue an individual career and was soon followed by Promzy.
Before then, the group dominated music charts in the country and won five awards at the Ghana Music Awards from their hit single 'Ahomka Womu'.
