A non-governmental organisation, Sung Bie'la Foundation, has donated learning materials worth 28,000 cedis to eight disadvantaged schools in the Upper East Region.
The beneficiary schools included Gentiga Primary and Junior High School, Bansi Junior High School, Yakut Modern Girls School, Yebongo Junior High School, Kusanaba Junior High School, and Kusanaba Senior High School located in the Bawku Municipal, Binduri District, Bawku West District, and Bolgatanga areas.

Through the generous support of sponsors and donors who share the foundation's commitment to improving educational opportunities for children in rural communities, all schools received much-needed educational materials and supplies, including textbooks, writing materials, and other learning aids.
Speaking at different ceremonies in the region, the foundation's Director, Hajia Zenabu Awinbe Ndebugri, stated that the donation was part of the foundation's assistance mission to help vulnerable people and towns in northern Ghana better their living conditions.
"Poor parents cannot afford their children's basic needs. We understand that we cannot supply everything, but this is our small contribution to assist the children in school and learn," she said.

She urged the students to take their studies seriously and urged teachers to monitor and encourage them, particularly the needy students, to stay and learn.
According to her, the Sung Bie'la Foundation is dedicated to promoting education as a critical instrument for ending the cycle of poverty in rural communities.

"The foundation seeks to empower children with the knowledge and skills they need to succeed in life through its various programs and initiatives. We can make a difference in the lives of children in rural communities and help them build a brighter future if we work together," she said.
Teachers from several schools commended the organization for its efforts to help underprivileged children thrive in life. They pledged to use the items received for their intended use.
