Two people have died in a domestic fire outbreak at Kodjonya, a suburb of Lower Manya Krobo in the Eastern Region, on Tuesday, March 31, 2026.
The victims were reportedly asleep when the fire broke out and were burnt beyond recognition.
A third person was rescued from the blaze but sustained life-threatening burns and is currently receiving treatment at the emergency ward of Akuse Government Hospital.
The Ghana Police Service at the Odumase-Krobo District Police Command, in collaboration with officers from the Ghana National Fire Service at the Kpong Fire Station, has launched an investigation into the cause of the fire.
The bodies of the deceased have been deposited at the morgue.
