Members of Nkoranza South District Assembly at their first meeting refused to confirm Mr. Emmanuel Kwadwo Agyekum as the President’s nominee for the position of DCE.
Seventeen out of 32 members present voted for him while 15 voted against. He needed 21 votes representing 65 per cent to get the nod.
The Assembly will reconvene in 10 days to decide his fate.
Among those present were Mr. Kwadwo Nyamekye-Marfo, Regional Minister and his deputy, Mr. Eric Opoku.
Before the election Mr. Nyamekye-Marfo urged the members to confirm the nominee so the assembly could carry out its development programme.
The Assembly however elected Mr. Isaac Asirifi Kudom as the new Presiding Member.
