The seven individuals who lost their lives in a fatal accident at Asikuma in the Bia West District of the Western North Region have been laid to rest on Thursday, January 22.
The accident, which occurred on January 7, 2026, around 7:00 am, involved a tricycle transporting the victims to their farm, which collided with a truck loaded with logs.
The deceased are Isaac Acquah, 64, and his wife, Elizabeth Asiedu, 53, and Madam Dora Asiedu 64, the elder sister of Mrs Elizabeth Asiedu.
The rest are, Madam Akua Bronya, 70, Madam Yaa Ampomah, 70, Madam Ama Yamoah, 62, and Madam Cecelia Samaah, 55.

Reverend Anthony Abekah Addae of Esaam Methodist Church, who officiated the burial service, emphasised the inevitability of death and urged Christians to lead exemplary lives.
“Let’s be reminded that heaven is won or lost right here on earth,” he stressed.
Western North Regional Minister, Wilbert Petty Brentum, expressed shock at the news and commiserated with the bereaved family.
He extended the President’s condolences to the family and the Asuopri community.
The Regional Minister was accompanied by the Member of Parliament for Bia West, Mr Amadu Tanko, Bia West DCE, Matthew Annor, and other regional executives of the National Democratic Congress.
The bereaved families and community members gathered to bid farewell to their loved ones, remembering their contributions to the community.
The burial ceremony was a solemn occasion, with many mourners paying their last respects to the deceased.
