Managers of the National Youth Employment Programme have begun investigations into allegations a co-ordinator at Nkoranza has been extorting monies from persons seeking to be engaged by the programme. Some personnel accuse Nuhu Ishmael of taking them off the programme after he collected monies from them. One of them said he paid over GH¢300 to Ishmael before he got an introductory letter to teach in a certain school but after a while the co-ordinator told him to stop teaching with the promise that he will be called back. Deputy National Co-ordinator in charge of Communications, Mutala Mohammed told Joy News Ishmael could face dismissal if the allegations are found to be true. He said it was only proper and fair to hear Ishmael’s side of the story after which an informed decision will be taken. Source: Joy News/Ghana
