Obeis Football Management(OFM), an Accra-based soccer managing organization aimed at recruiting, training and transforming young and talented footballers into matured and marketable players, has signed a five-year contract with Jomo Cosmos, a South African Premier Club.
The contract which would be renewed at the end of the five year period would offer the players and coaches of OFM the opportunity to go on regular training tours to their counterparts in South Africa.
Players who excel at the end of the training tour would then be signed on by the South African club.
Mr Ibrahim Freshpound, Chief Executive Officer of OFM said this in a brief interview with the GNA Sports in Accra on activities of the organisation on Thursday on the arrival of the team from its initial training tour of South Africa.
He said OFM would continue their talent hunt as a way of offering the youth with gainful employment to prevent them from indulging in nefarious activities.
Mr Freshpound said the ‘Talent Hunt’ this year would be organised on regional basis to offer equal opportunity to other players from the regions.
Seven players who excelled from the initial 30 players during the training tour have so far signed a three-year contract with Jomo Cosmos FC.
On the training tour, OFM drew 4-4 with Jomo Cosmos in their first match, beat Mamelodi Sundowns 1-0 but lost 2-3 to Orlando Pirates in the other matches.
