Anthony E. Amoah, Western Regional Minister has called on all churches to promote peace in their communities and cordiality among its members.
He said without peace the role of the church cannot be fully achieved.
Mr. Amoah said these when the Most Reverend Dr Scott Earl Mclaughlin, Archbishop and Primate of the Orthodox Anglican Church in the United States, paid a courtesy call on him on Thursady as part of his four-day visit to the Western Region.
He said the church was a symbol of peace and all must work hard to promote peace irrespective of the circumstances.
Archbishop McLaughlin said his visit to Ghana was to inaugurate the first branch of the church in Sekondi.
At the Sekondi Palace, Nana Titi Apoh, Chief of Kansaworodu, urged the church to teach its members the values of cultural traditions.
He said it was sad that many had ignored their traditions and adopted foreign ones that were not suitable for the Ghanaian environment.
Nana Apoh said the chieftaincy institution and the church were both aiming at improving the livelihood of the people and as such it would be proper to teach future generations their customs and traditions to enable them to uphold it.
The church, which started as the Church of Saints (SS) Peter and Paul the Apostles on July 30 2006, received its formal certificate of affiliation from the Orthodox Anglican Communion on Easter Sunday, April 8 2007.
The orthodox Anglican Communion is one of the first of such communions outside the See of Canterbury.
The church does not subscribe to gayism and lesbianism and its headquarters is in North Carolina in the United States.
The Very Reverend Jacob Augustine Welbourne has been appointed the Vicar General of the Church in Ghana and he would be inaugurated as the first Orthodox Anglican Church in Ghana and in the West African sub-region on July 28 at Sekondi.
