The Osu Presbyterian Senior High School (OPSHS) in Accra, Ghana, was filled with joy and appreciation as the 1987 year group of the Osu Presbyterian Senior High School Old Students Association (OPOSA) made a generous donation of textbooks to their alma mater.
The donation, valued at GH¢12,460.00, was a testament to the group's commitment to supporting their former school and contributing to the improvement of teaching and learning.

The textbooks, comprising science and other subjects, were handed over to the school administration, led by the Assistant Head of Domestic, Madam Irene Boadi Afoakwa.
In her remarks, she expressed heartfelt gratitude to the 1987 year group for their thoughtful gesture, acknowledging the significant impact it would have on the school's academic programmes.
"We are truly grateful for this wonderful donation," She said. "These books will go a long way in supporting our students and teachers, and we appreciate the effort the 1987 group has put into making this happen."
The donation was made even more special by the involvement of Professor Akrong Hesse, a member of the 1987 year group and owner of Akrong Publications, a local book publishing company.
Professor Hesse had contributed some of the books, demonstrating his commitment to supporting education and his alma mater.
Ms Irene took the opportunity to appeal to other year groups to follow the example of the 1987 group, urging them to support the school in any way they could.
"We are grateful for the support we've received so far, but we still need the help of all our stakeholders to ensure our students receive the best possible education," she said.
The 1987 year group's donation was not an isolated act of kindness; they had previously undertaken other projects to support the school, including the construction of a borehole with a mounted polytank for water storage, which had improved access to clean water for students and staff.

The ceremony was a heartwarming reminder of the power of the old boys' association and the impact they can have on their former schools.
The 1987 year group's selfless act not only enhanced the school's library but also inspired others to give back to their community.
As the event came to a close, the school's administration and students alike were filled with gratitude, knowing that the 1987 year group's donation would have a lasting impact on the school's academic programmes.
The donation was a testament to the 1987 year group's commitment to giving back to their alma mater and contributing to the development of future leaders. It was a reminder that every act of kindness, no matter how small, can make a significant difference in the lives of others.
The school's administration and students thanked the 1987 year group for their generosity and promised to make good use of the donated textbooks.
The event ended with a sense of appreciation and a renewed commitment to supporting the school's mission to provide quality education to its students.
At the presentation were Mr. Samuel Lomotey and Madam Patience Hesse representing the Chairman of the Osu Presby 1987 Old Students Association, Mr. Emmanuel Afetsi.
