Two former housekeepers of David and Victoria Beckham have been arrested on suspicion of theft from their mansion in Hertfordshire.
A woman, 56, and a man, 55, both from Essex, were arrested in connection with a theft from a private house in the county and were on bail, police said.
Suspicions were raised when memorabilia belonging to the former England captain and his wife appeared on eBay.
A spokesman for the Beckhams said the matter was in the hands of the police.
Police said the arrested pair have been bailed until 22 November.
A spokesman for Hertfordshire Police said the force was "investigating an allegation of theft from a private address in Hertfordshire".
"The theft was reported to police on Friday 10 October," he said.
A spokesman for eBay confirmed they were co-operating with Hertfordshire Police to establish what happened.
"If it transpires that our site was being used to list stolen goods then we will work with the police to press for the harshest penalties," he added.
