The Power Distribution Service has suspended its load shedding porgramme announced on Friday.
The power distributor had released a timetable detailing when the power outages which affected eight regions – Volta, Oti, Western, Western North, Greater Accra; including Tema, Ashanti, Central and Eastern – for April 5 and 6.
But in a public notice copied to Joy News, the PDS said it has been directed by the Ghana Grid Company (GRIDCo) to suspend the load shedding as scheduled.
The notice said “PDS Ghana Ltd wished to inform the general public, especially its cherished customers that it has been directed by Gridco to suspend with immediate effect the load management programme until further notice because there is sufficient generation.”
The suspension will excite many Ghanaians who have been unhappy with the recent power outages, that for weeks was erratic and without notice.
