Security analyst, Col. Festus Aboagye has warned that growing public frustration will soon lead to people storming the Jubilee House. He believes this will be a direct result of the government’s failure to address political violence and its inability to effectively manage the country's governance issues.
Speaking on JoyNews' Newsfile programme on Saturday, December 14, Col. Aboagye stated, “Very soon, you will see people going to the Jubilee House because their government is in power.” He explained that the increasing political violence, alongside the government's lack of action, is fueling this rising anger among the public.
He pointed out that much of the violence seen across the country stems from the way the Electoral Commission (EC) has managed the electoral system.
While the Electoral Commission is not directly responsible for security, Col. Aboagye emphasized, “Even if they are not directly responsible for security, they take responsibility for some of the violence and the discretion.”
Col. Aboagye went on to highlight several examples of political violence, including incidents in Nyankpala, Awutu Senya East, and Abuakwa North, where political figures and their bodyguards have resorted to violent tactics. These incidents reflect a broader issue of impunity and rising political tensions, which, according to Col. Aboagye, are worsening the situation.
A key example he cited was the case of one Ernest Yeboah, who was involved in the 2019 Ayawaso West Wuogon incident. Despite the gravity of his actions, Yeboah has faced no consequences and has continued to engage in violent behaviour. Col. Aboagye remarked, “This man hasn’t suffered any consequences and he goes back from 2019 to 2024, back to Abuakwa North, to shoot again.”

The security analyst also criticized the government for violating constitutional norms by recruiting individuals for national security roles without proper checks. He stressed that this lack of accountability is contributing to the ongoing violence.
Col. Aboagye concluded his remarks by reaffirming his warning: "Very soon, you will see people going to the Jubilee House because their government is in power." He called for immediate steps to address the political violence and discontent, urging the government to take action before the situation escalates further.
