Legon Cities goalkeeper Eric Antwi, who won man of the match in The Royal’s opening Premier League game versus Hearts of Oak, has described the encounter as a difficult one.
Eric Antwi was the difference between a draw and loss for Legon Cities, pulling up with incredible saves to thwart the reigning champions, as Maxwell Konadu’s side had to deal with a flurry of attacks from Hearts.
Antwi’s performance left many raving on social media, extending to five years, a slow start to the season for Accra Hearts of Oak.
After the game, the goalkeeper had praise for his team who showed their resilience versus the Phobians. Nonetheless, he believes the team can do better in subsequent fixtures.
“It was a very, very hard game because playing against league champions it wasn’t easy. But I think our players did well and a draw away is not bad. We still have to work hard. We have more matches to play and our next game is RTU, we have to focus on that game and take the three maximum points,” he said in a post-match interview.
Following their draw, Cities find themselves in 12th place while Hearts sit 13th on the table.
