The Presbyterian University of Ghana has more than doubled its law students’ enrolment at the Kumasi campus.
For the 2024/2025 academic year, the University attracted 190 LLB students for the matriculation and roll call ceremony in Kumasi. The previous academic year had 80 students matriculating.

Vice-Chancellor of the Presbyterian University, Professor John Ofosu-Anim, says the significant increase testifies to a growing interest of Ghanaians to read law.
"This symbolizes the high interest most people are getting for the law profession and this must come with sanity and trust in the judiciary," he expressed.
He urged the students to be wary of undue peer influence that can lead them to a path of destruction.

"The fresh law students must commit themselves to learn hard and not allow their peers to lead them into the path of destruction," he admonished.
Prof. Ofosu-Anim says young law professionals must strive to uphold the trust of Ghanaians in the judiciary.
"I have told them to be fair as they are studying law, and also know how to apply the law. There should be equality before the law and that will allow Ghanaians to believe in them," he told JoyNews.

He noted that society thrives when there is quality in the application of law, irrespective of the political affiliation or social standing.
"We are only asking that irrespective of the difficult separation of politicians and the judiciary, there should be equality and fairness in judgment," he said.
