President Kufuor is due for the Kenyan capital of Nairobi on Tuesday where he is expected to mediate in peace talks between the government and opposition locked up in a bitter fight over disputed election results.
Information Minister, Mrs Oboshie Sai-Cofie, has told Joy News the President is going to Kenya with an open mind and was hopeful conclusions to make both sides happy would be pursued.
The President last week called off a planned visit to the hitherto peaceful country, following an escalation of violence at Bawku in his own backyard, and what the international media also reported was a rejection of his intervention by the Kenyan government led by Mwai Kibaki.
President Kufuor is attending to the situation in his capacity as AU Chairman after a Kenyan envoy at the weekend extended an invitation to him.
