Ghana’s first Ambassador to the African Union (AU), Ambassador Ebenezer Debrah, has blamed civil servants for letting the African continent down.He said civil servants lack patriotism and thus do not give their best in service to their nations. The AU marked its 50th anniversary over the weekend with President Mahama charging African leaders to overhaul state institutions and wean itself of Western donors. But speaking on Tarzan’s Take, a political talk show on Multi TV, Ambassador Ebenezer Debrah blamed the AU’s failures on what he described as the unpatriotic attitudes of public servants.“Public servants must be honest, dedicated, committed and nationalistic because if we can stand together; if we can build very strong public services, we will be able to utilise our resources very well”, he said.
