The Vienna Beach Resort in Accra was thrown into a fun frenzy on Monday as part of Ghana’s 53rd Republic day celebration. Thanks to Vodafone Ghana Ltd.
The beach party, branded the “RED ISLAND BEACH PARTY” was well attended with fun filled activities like dance competitions, giving away of gifts and prizes of T-Shirts and call credits among others. The most interesting event of the night was the solving of a huge Ghana Map puzzle.
The MC for the beach party, Eddie Nartey, kept the crowd engaged and entertained with his hilarious stories and choreographed dance with a group of dancers and entreated everybody to join Vodafone family.
He narrated what he says is a life changing experience since joining the Vodafone network, and this was his inability to reach for help when attacked by his Nigerian girlfriend in his hotel room.
“…when she came, I know her…I was inside with a girl…all I needed to do was to pick up my phone and call my neighbour and tell him my crazy girlfriend was here. When I made the call, I was told I do not have enough call credit…eeeeiiiii at this juncture of my life? Eddie Nartey, you don’t have call credit? The girl broke inside and stabbed me…and then I changed my life by changing my network…”
The Communications Manager of Vodafone Ghana Ltd shared with Joy News the importance of the program on such occasion.
“…the reason why we are really excited about this day is that…if you look at what happened before we began to celebrate Republic day, it was all a theme around freedom and this started by empowerment which was the focus of Kwame Nkrumah and his team…this is what our brand stands for…we’re always empowering and inspiring people who come into contact with the brand…so we thought it wise to give Ghanaians a unique brand experience on a day like this…”
Stonebouy, the dancehall artist, wrapped up the occasion with an electrifying performance getting the crowd go gaga.
