Hip-life Grand Papa, Reggie Rockstone who recently turned 49, has revealed that he’ll be embarking on a worldwide tour with fellow Hip-life legend Obrafour.
Speaking to Bola Ray on Joy FM’s Drive Time, the Grand Papa said the tour which has been christened “The Last Two” will start from Ghana and take the hip-life duo to Europe and North America.
According to Reggie Rockstone, the tour will feature only the two artistes and will not be joined by any supporting act. The Hip-life legend however said that the date for the tour will be announced shortly.
Reggie Rockstone, who was speaking on a variety of issues acknowledged that at a point in time the Hip-life genre nearly died as a result of adulterations.
Reggie Rockstone, acclaimed as the founder of Hip-life music in Ghana, bemoaned the neglect of Hip-life by successive governments.
“Hip-life today has not officially been endorsed by no government whether NPP or NDC. The only time they talk about hip-life is when they want you to come and speak their praises so they can win power. That is it. This is the pulse of our country”.
On the way forward, Reggie said that he wants the next president to honour Hip-life artistes who hitherto might have been on the streets.
