RenWoman the women empowerment initiative by Rendeavour, the developer of Appolonia City took to the streets and put smiles on the faces of street children and head porters (kayayei).
Starting from the Airport City traffic light through to Accra Central, the team successfully shared over 300 packs of clothes and sanitary items for both women and children, along with meals.
“Kudos to all Appolonia City women, clients, staff and everyone who donated to this worthy cause,” said Dansoaa Adotey, RenWoman Ghana chairperson and sales manager for Appolonia City. “It was touching to see the women and kids on the street making use of the much-needed donations.”
The gesture coincided with International Day of Charity, which is marked globally in September to raise awareness for charity-related activities that alleviate poverty.
“It’s incredible to see people shower us with these clothes and food items. We were pleasantly surprised and are grateful. We pray that God keeps blessing you all,” said Munira, one of the head porters.
This is the second public activity RenWoman Ghana has done this year.
In May, a free health screening was organised for the women in the Appolonia community and its environs. Similar charitable activities are organised at other Rendeavour projects.
